Automatic 8-litre water tank for connecting low-pressure poultry drinking systems to a pressurised mains water supply. Featuring an integrated float valve, 1/2" water inlet and 3/8" hose outlet. The tank refills automatically and supplies compatible low-pressure drinkers with water at a reduced pressure. Permitted inlet pressure: 0.5–6 bar.
This pressure compensation water tank makes it easier to operate a low-pressure drinking system using an existing water supply. Instead of regularly filling a reservoir by hand, an integrated float valve automatically maintains the water level in the tank.
The tank acts as an intermediate reservoir between the pressurised water supply and the downstream low-pressure drinking system.
This allows suitable poultry drinkers, drinking cups and nipple drinkers to be connected to a water supply without exposing their low-pressure valves directly to mains pressure.
How the Pressure Compensation Tank Works
The operating principle is straightforward:
-
Connect the tank's 1/2" inlet to a suitable water supply.
-
The integrated float valve opens when the water level in the tank drops.
-
The reservoir automatically refills until the intended water level is reached.
-
Water flows through the 3/8" outlet to the connected low-pressure drinkers.
-
As water is consumed, the float valve automatically replenishes the tank.
Suitable for Different Low-Pressure Drinking Systems
The water tank is suitable for compatible drinking systems used in poultry and small animal keeping, including:
-
Automatic low-pressure poultry drinkers
-
Low-pressure drinking cups and bowls
-
Suitable nipple drinkers
-
Systems with several drinking points connected by 3/8" tubing
Multiple drinkers can be connected using suitable tubing, T-connectors and other distribution fittings.
The number of drinkers that can be supplied depends on their water consumption, the available height difference, pipe lengths and the flow capacity of the overall system.
Automatic Refilling with a Float Valve
The built-in float valve regulates incoming water mechanically and does not require electricity.
When the tank's water level falls, the float valve opens. Once the required level has been restored, the valve closes.
With a suitable permanent connection to the water supply, regular manual refilling is no longer necessary.
The tank has an 8-litre capacity and is designed to act as an intermediate water reservoir for low-pressure drinking systems.
Water Connections and Pressure Requirements
The tank is equipped with:
-
1/2" water inlet for connection to the pressurised supply
-
3/8" hose outlet for the downstream low-pressure drinking system
-
Permitted inlet pressure of 0.5–6 bar
The 0.5–6 bar specification applies to the inlet, not to the pressure delivered to the drinkers.
The tank must be installed at a suitable height above the drinkers to provide sufficient gravity-fed water pressure. The required height and tubing arrangement depend on the connected drinking system.
Suitable 3/8" tubing, connectors, distribution fittings and shut-off valves are available separately.
Practical Equipment and Compact Dimensions
The tank is supplied with the main components needed for automatic filling:
With dimensions of 35 × 19 × 15 cm, including fittings according to the product specifications, the tank can be integrated into many poultry housing and rearing arrangements.

Installation, Use and Safety
Install the tank securely and horizontally in a suitable location. For gravity-fed operation, the water level in the tank must be sufficiently higher than the connected drinkers.
Connect the 1/2" inlet to an appropriate water supply. The inlet pressure must remain within the specified 0.5–6 bar range.
Connect the 3/8" outlet to suitable low-pressure drinkers using compatible tubing and distribution fittings. When installing several drinkers, ensure that the available flow rate is sufficient.
Open the water supply and check that the float valve fills the tank and closes properly at the intended water level. Inspect all connections for leaks.
Do not connect drinking systems that require a higher minimum water pressure than the gravity-fed arrangement can provide. Low-pressure drinkers must not be exposed directly to full mains pressure unless specifically approved for it.
Clean the tank and inspect the float valve regularly. Remove deposits that could prevent the valve from operating correctly.
When connected to a public drinking water supply, comply with applicable drinking water hygiene and backflow prevention requirements.
Protect the tank, valve and tubing from freezing. Automatic refilling does not replace regular inspection of the animals' water supply.
