Infrared and dark radiators are the cheapest option for warming your chicks during rearing. However, consider the high maintenance and electricity costs and take the time for a small comparison of the different alternatives. The protective cages are suitable for both types (infrared radiators and dark radiators). You can choose between the protective cages with a short grid (approved up to 175W) or (as shown) with a long grid - then also approved up to 250W. In addition, you have the choice between the "simple" version and the version with a so-called "economy switch." This halves the power consumption but, of course, also reduces the heat output, so that, for example, a 250W bulb runs at 125W. This gives you the option to reduce the performance for older chicks and/or during the day.

Dark radiators are preferred over simple infrared radiators, as the infrared radiators (24-hour light) can cause developmental disorders (feather pecking/cannibalism). Also, the lifespan of the dark radiators (quality manufacturer: Elstein) is significantly higher.
